Late-night rooms,
protected rooms.
Vesper is anonymous-by-default — no profiles to perform, no follower counts. That doesn't mean lawless. This page explains the tools you have, how our moderators work, and what to expect if you report someone.
01Safety tools, built in
Every room, mood match, DM, and voice call ships with the same set of safety primitives. They live one tap away — no menus to dig through.
Block
Block anyone instantly. They can't see you, message you, or join rooms you're currently in. No notification is sent to the other person.
Report
Report a profile, a message, a voice call, or a room. We capture the context so moderators can review what actually happened.
Leave
One tap exits any room or call. No history is left behind for the other person to scroll, no goodbye notification.
Mute
Silence push notifications from a room or DM thread without leaving or revealing that you've muted.
You can use any of these without the other person knowing. Block is invisible to the person blocked. Report is private. Leave looks the same as any normal exit.
02How moderation works
Reports are reviewed by trained human moderators — not bots, not auto-classifiers acting alone. Our target response time is under 10 minutes, around the clock. We hit it most of the time; on a quiet 3am we're usually faster.
What moderators see
- The exact message, room, or call segment you reported, with surrounding context.
- The reason category you selected and any free-text you added.
- The reported account's recent moderation history (prior reports, prior penalties).
What they don't see
- Your phone number or any contact data tied to your identity.
- Unrelated DMs or rooms you weren't reporting.
03How to report someone
You can file a report from a profile, a message, a call, or a room. Reports use one of these reason categories:
- Spam — repeated unwanted messages, scams, off-platform promotion.
- Harassment — threats, targeted insults, stalking, sustained pressure.
- Inappropriate content — sexual content directed at someone who didn't consent, hate speech, gore, or anything illegal.
- Fake profile — impersonation or misrepresentation of identity.
- Underage — you believe the user is under 18.
- Other — anything that doesn't fit a category above. Tell us in your own words.
If you feel unsafe right now: block first, report after. Blocking takes effect immediately; the report can wait a few seconds.
04Age and minors
Vesper is for people aged 18 and older. We collect date of birth at sign-up to verify this, and we don't allow accounts for users under 18. If you suspect a user is under 18, report them with the Underage reason — those reports are prioritised in the review queue.
If you discover that a minor is using the app, you can also email our safety team directly at support@vesperchat.live.
05What happens after a report
Reports are tracked against the reported account. Once an account crosses a report threshold, our team reviews the details — and if the reports are genuine, the account is suspended for 1 week.
You won't be told the exact outcome of any specific report — that protects the privacy of everyone involved — but you will see a confirmation that a moderator reviewed it.
06If you're not okay
Vesper is a social app, not a crisis service. If you or someone you're talking to is in immediate danger or having thoughts of self-harm, please reach out to a local emergency line or a trained counsellor.
- iCall — 9152987821 (Mon–Sat, 8am–10pm IST). Free phone counselling.

07Contact the safety team
For anything urgent that the in-app report flow can't cover — law enforcement requests, safety escalations, follow-ups on a previous report, or account, billing, and general support — write to support@vesperchat.live.
